Cambodia ICT Camp 2024

Open Development Cambodia (ODC) and its partners are organizing three Cambodia ICT Camp 2024 from 5-7 December 2024 in Siem Reap province. This three-day event will be the third Cambodia ICT Camp to be held. The inaugural camp, born from the Mekong ICT Camp 2017 held in Siem Reap, was successfully held in 2018, followed by a second camp in 2022.

The Cambodia ICT Camp 2024 is an interactive event featuring sharing sessions, panel discussions, and hands-on activities led by national and international experts in ICT, cybersecurity, cybercrime, digital communications, artificial intelligence (AI), journalism, and digital rights.

The camp will bring together participants from diverse but interconnected fields, including media and journalism, civil society organizations, digital rights advocacy groups, legal professionals, academia, the private sector, and university students. They will have the opportunity to engage in in-depth sharing of knowledge by the experts, get to experience the real-life applications of technologies, and connect with other participants.

Fifth Global Media and Information Literacy Youth Hackathon

Theme: Youth powering media and information literacy in digital spaces The UNESCO annual Global Media and Information Literacy Week is a major occasion for stakeholders to review and celebrate the progress achieved towards “Media and Information Literacy for All.”  The Global Media and Information Literacy Youth Hackathon is an integral part of the Global Media and Information Literacy Week Youth Agenda Forum. It is an opportunity for young people and youth organizations worldwide to participate in creating innovative MIL learning in meaningful ways. Following the previous four successful editions, the fifth Global Media and Information Literacy Youth Hackathon will be held during Global MIL Week 2023. UNESCO and partners call on youth worldwide to participate in this virtual hackathon to design innovative solutions to a defined set of social challenges, in connection with the year’s theme: “Youth powering media and information literacy in digital spaces.” Youth from schools, universities, youth centers, youth organizations, and young leaders from around the globe are invited to participate. The winning teams and the outcome of the Hackathon will be presented during the Global MIL Week Youth Agenda Forum 2023. Geo for Good Summit

The Summit is intended for nonprofit, academic, public sector, private sector, and Indigenous peoples and local communities who are using (or want to learn to use) our mapping tools (such as Google Earth, Earth Engine, Environmental Insights Explorer, and My Maps) for planetary sustainability and human resilience around the world. By attending the Summit, you’ll have the opportunity to dive deep into learning our mapping technologies, hear the latest updates, and learn how others in the community are using these technologies for impact. The application deadline to attend the summit in person has already passed. If you already submitted an application to attend, you will be notified of your application decision by June 28, 2023.
